My project is about electrochemical energy using the ocean and simple materials. Climate change is endangering our world and we need energy sources from the natural environment that are abundant and easily found. Since 70% of the Earth is covered by oceans, this innovation science project tested several prototypes using common elements with saltwater to create and conduct energy. By integrating several designs, I built an ocean battery model making energy that reduces the size of the battery and produces more power. By adding an innovative design, the battery can produce perpetual and sustainable energy, for both economic and environmental benefits. I also learned how what doesn’t work is as important as what does work!
