How does Bioplastic affect the amount of glycerin?

Plastics are a big issue these days and if we help the environment by using bioplastics it may make a difference. Bioplastics come out of renewable sources. The objective of this project was to test the effects of different amounts of glycerin. I made these strips with different amounts of glycerin, starch, vinegar, and water. They really don’t take a lot of time to decompose and they are affordable. I used bioplastics because I found it interesting to learn and they are incredibly good for the environment. I made 5 strips of Bioplastic and made each with different amounts of glycerin in each. The one with the least glycerin (5ml) was the strongest. The one with the greatest amount of glycerin (25ml) and that one was the least strongest.

Extension: I carried on this project. I took the 5 ml strip of bioplastics (since that strip was the strongest) and took a plastic water bottle and dug it in the mud. I investigated which plastic would decompose the quickest. I waited for a month and checked the plastic out. Bioplastic had shrunk a little and the plastic bottle was about the same. I really enjoyed when my teacher and I extended this project and figured out whether the plastic water bottle would decompose faster or the bioplastic strip.
